Grade Level: IX to Intermediate/A’ levels

Rules:

  1. Each school will be represented by ONE participant. (Solo Vocalist)
  2. Songs may only be sung in Urdu and other South Asian languages
  3. Categories allowed include:

A: Semi-Classical- Ghazal, Folk or Raga-based Film Song

B: Contemporary songs- Pop and Geet

  1. Participants are required to specify the category they choose.
  2. Each participant will be allocated 2 minutes for performance.
  3. There will be TWO rounds: Semi Final and Final. Participants are advised to prepare two songs, although the same song may be sung for the final round.
  4. No musical instruments will be played in the Semi Final round.
  5. ISEO Committee will only arrange a Keyboard as accompaniment for the final round. However, personal musicians will be allowed with own instruments.
  6. The performance order will be determined by a random draw before the sound check.
  7. Participants will be given a rehearsal session with the ISEO musicians prior to the competition. Rehearsal dates will be notified on the website Notice Board.
  8. Any student who has sung professionally will not be allowed to enter the competition.
  9. Attendance will be restricted to faculty members and enrolled students of participating schools.
