TEACHER’S OPEN MIC

Introduction
At the Teachers Open-Mike the stage is yours and we’re all ears. All you need is lots of energy, passion and courage to take the mic!

ISEO would like to provide teachers an opportunity to express themselves freely and explore the depths of their imagination. Entries for this event can range from and include acting, comedy skits, magic tricks, mimicry, poetry recitation, puppetry or any performance based skill you dare to present.

Rules:

  1. Each School may send ONE team.
  2. Each team will be represented by ONE or TWO teachers.
  3. The performance can be in English or Urdu.
  4. Vocals, Instrumentals, and Dance performances should be chosen from the Classical Eastern or Western repertoires.
  5. No semi-classical or ghazal performances are permitted.
  6. No dances based on Bollywood or popular songs are permitted.
  7. ISEO will provide 2 mikes, 2 chairs, a table and a sound system for CD’s if required.
  8. The duration of the performance must be no less than ONE AND A HALF MINUTES and not exceed THREE minutes. This includes any time taken to change sets or props.
  9. Costumes and makeup are allowed. Costumes can be used but will not be factored into scoring in any way.
  10. A maximum of 3 props will be allowed and will be the responsibility of the participating teams. Set elements will be allowed as long as they can be carried by only one person.
  11. Open or closed flames and pyrotechnics of any sort are not permitted in the competition.
  12. Any impropriety, gratuitous violence, ethnic intolerance or racism is strongly prohibited.
  13. Attendance will be restricted to faculty members and members of the participating teams.

 

Note: Entries will be limited to the first TWENTY FIVE schools that register for the event.
