Topic: 21st Century Wars will be fought in Cyberspace. Is Pakistan Prepared?
In our efforts to make the submission and judging process for Cyberfair more cost-effective, simple and efficient, we have decided to move to a “Service Oriented Architecture” approach for web development. No more static html and no more burning your website files onto a Cd for submission. We’re embracing the WordPress platform and allowing you to focus on content generation.
Rules:
  1. Each team will have a maximum of TWO participants
  2. Each school may have only ONE team
  3. A maximum of 25 schools can compete. In case there are more schools, we will only allow the first 25 schools to submit their forms, participate.
  4. Teams will be given a URL, Login ID and Password to a Dashboard that will have the updated version of WordPress installed. The URL will be in the following format: YourSchoolName-2012.iseo.org.pk
  5. Teams will have access to pre-installed themes to select from.
  6. Teams will be required to generate a MAXIMUM of 6 pages. One of the pages MUST be ABOUT US page where your team member names and how you divided the work is written about. One page MUST be called HOME (which is your landing page)
  7. You MUST have a SEARCH bar somewhere in the site.
  8. 50% judging will be done on content originality, creativity, research and citations; 25% judging will be done on how clearly the content is presented through your Navigation. 25% judging will be done on promotion using Social Media tools available on the site. We’ll be looking at analytics and Activity Stream on Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. Please use the hashtag #ISEO2012 and follow @iseopk
  9. Teams will not have FTP or CPanel access. All “tools” (ie: themes and plugins) will be installed and ready for them to use.
  10. Top 3 teams will win prizes
  11. Any suspicious activity or files generated by the teams, will be cause for immediate disqualification.
  12. If you get stuck, try and use online resources to find the answer. Last case scenario, send an email to: helpme @ iseo.org.pk and one of our webmasters will try and assist you.
  13. Please note that the Maintenance Mode plugin will be enabled by default so you can develop the site while not allowing anyone else to view it. Be sure that DEACTIVATE it from the PLUGINS link when you are done so you can promote your site through Social Media.
  14. It is advised that your sites be public by January 31st, 2012. Judging will commence on February 2nd. Your access to the WordPress Dashboard will be DEACTIVATED one minute past midnight on January 31st (that’s technically February 1st! :-) ) , which means you will not be able to make any changes.
